5 Ways to Promote Positive Wellbeing During COVID-19

1. Strengthen Your Relationship with a Higher Power.

Tap into your spirituality and develop a more personal relationship with a higher power. Our belief and ability to ‘rest’ in a higher power our primary weapon against mental warfare and other challenges we experience in live. It is important to develop a set schedule of daily quiet time and meditation. Quiet time allows you to become more in tune with your spirituality, draw strength and seek comfort in a higher power. Daily time reading or listening to inspirational messages and spiritual principles allows us to draw from messages when we need support, strength and faith that a higher power is in total control even when we cannot visually set it.

2. Develop a personalized self-care plan.

Self-care is the foundation of our overall wellbeing. Our ability to practice ‘good’ self-care practices, support our ability to take care of ourselves. Self-care may be broken down into the following five key areas: mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and financial wellness. Each key area should have activities that you will complete consistently to promote positive outcomes in those areas to decrease stress and promote positive wellbeing. A good example: I will work-out a minimum of 3 times a week.

For more support in this area you may use the self-care plan developed by The Empowerment Agency at https://www.empowered-consultants.com/resources

3. Declutter and Deep Clean

Studies show evidence that decluttering and deep cleaning are living spaces reduces anxiety, depression and promotes positive wellbeing. Many people report feeling more calm, productive and at peace once their living spaces were cleaned and organized. There is a long time saying that states if you want to know how a person is really doing, look at their home, car and work-space for clues.

4. Use technology to support mental wellness.

Technology is a large part of our daily lives. We use technology from the start of the day until we lay our heads down at night. We are tied to our smartphones for work, social networking and other tedious tasks, yet we tend to under-estimate the ways technology may benefit our mental wellness. There are many products that promote emotional wellness in today’s market such as Calm App, Colorfy, Headspace, Recovery Record, Insight Timer and even Alexa.

5. Express Gratitude and a hopeful mindset.

A heart of gratitude to said to be one of the best mindsets to carry through life. When life gives us lemons it is important to be able to focus on the positive things that we have experienced. Gratitude is a posture of gratefulness for what God has allowed us to experience or things that are to come.
